Thoughts, stories and ideas.

Did you know that contact lens are not biodegradable and mostly end up in landfills? Due to their small size, both contact lens and packaging get filtered out in normal recycling bins.

Not to worry - Bausch & Lamb and TerraCycle launched the first ever sponsored contact lens recycling program in 2018.

It's FREE with 2 easy steps:

  1. Collect used contact lenses (of any brand), top foil and plastic blister packs. Box packaging can be recycled through your own local recycling centers.

2. Drop off collection to participating shops OR print free shipping label from http://www.bauschrecycles.com

Through this progaram, collected items are  cleaned and recycled searately with contact lenses and plastic blister packs melted and remolded to make recycled products.

Additionally, for every pound of accepted items, a $1 donation is made to Optometry Giving Sight.

I've started collecting my used contact lens and packaging - when are you starting yours?

**Note that this program is currently limited within the United States.
